Evolving through unique history and delivery model

Founded over 30 years ago, CCHP is part of a unique Integrated Delivery System united in the mission to make quality, affordable health care accessible to the community. Originally conceived out of needs of San Francisco’s Chinese-American community, we have evolved to meet the healthcare needs of everyone in the community.

CCHP was founded in 1986 by the non-profits, Chinese Hospital and Chinese Community Health Care Association (CCHCA).  Since then, CCHP has grown to cover 22,000 direct members and provide care for an additional 16,000 lives. We offer health plans for small and large employer groups, individuals, and Medicare Advantage for those over 65 years of age.

More recently, our quality has been recognized in various ways:

  • Awarded contract for Covered California marketplace in 2013
  • URAC Certified
  • 2018 CMS 4 ½ Star Rated Medicare Advantage plan
  • 2nd largest on-exchange market share for Covered California Plans
