The COVID-19 Public Health Emergency will end soon and millions of Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal/Medicare beneficiaries may lose their coverage.

Under the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency Declaration (PHE) for over 3 years now people have automatically qualified for Medi-Cal without having to file documents to satisfy eligibility requirements.  That is changing!

As of April 2023, the Public Health Emergency will no longer be in effect. This means Medi-Cal will resume its annual renewal screenings to make sure people continue to qualify. This is called Medi-Cal Redetermination.

Medi-Cal has started to contact current enrollees to redetermine and renew. You will be notified at least 60 days before your renewal date. If you have not been notified, be sure to contact your local Medi-Cal office and update your information (name, address, phone and email).

I this is the case, you should contact the Medi-Cal office for a review and make sure they have the correct information. Or you can complete your annual renewal and report changes to Medi-Cal by creating an online account today by going to mybenefitscalwin.org and selecting the “Create An Account” link.
