A child who struggles to focus in school. An adult recovering from a stroke or traumatic brain injury. A parent who begins forgetting familiar names and places. These situations are often dismissed as “just a phase,” “normal aging,” or something families simply have to live with. In reality, they may be signs of underlying cognitive or neurological conditions that deserve evaluation and support.
That is why Chinese Hospital & Clinics has established the Center of Lifespan Neuropsychology, bringing specialized neuropsychological evaluation services to our community for children, adults, and older adults.
Neuropsychological evaluations provide a detailed understanding of how the brain affects memory, attention, language, learning, behavior, and problem-solving. More importantly, they help identify the cause of cognitive or developmental concerns, allowing patients and families to make informed decisions about treatment, education, and long-term care.
Early evaluation can make a meaningful difference. Children with learning or developmental challenges can receive appropriate educational support sooner. Adults recovering from neurological conditions can better understand changes in thinking and memory. Older adults experiencing cognitive decline can receive earlier diagnosis and care planning, helping families prepare for the future.
Leading the Center is Icarus K. Tsang, PsyD, a neuropsychologist fluent in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Dr. Tsang specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations across the lifespan and is committed to providing evidence-based, culturally responsive, and patient-centered care. Working closely with physicians, specialists, educators, and families, he helps translate complex neurological findings into practical recommendations that improve daily life.
